(CNN) – Republican presidential nominee, Rick Santorum has been newly appointed the CEO of EchoLight Studios, a film company that produces faith and family-friendly entertainment.

“This is the right place and right time, and I’ve jumped in with both feet,” Santorum says. As the CEO, he aims to build up the faith-based entertainment category. “I often say that culture is upstream from politics, and I know entertainment also can be strength and light for people who want to be uplifted and reinforced in their values.”

One of the upcoming releases from EchoLight Studios is the holiday movie, A Christmas Candle. The movie is based upon a novel by best-selling Christian author, Max Lucado. Rick has been working closely with Lucado, in campaigning for the new production, as well as overseeing the domestic distribution of the film. Set to release November 22, the film shoots to rejuvenate America’s Christmas Spirit by bringing Christ back into Christmas.

“This film hearkens back to the heartwarming and uplifting movies of yesteryear. The story inspires renewed hope in the miracle of Christmas and illustrates that this holiday is not just about reindeer and receiving gifts,” says Santorum. He hopes that The Christmas Candle will remind audiences of something that he believes has been lost in today’s modern era – “the spirit and sense of wonder of the season.”
